Stafford Lynch Ltd and Tabasco are delighted to announce that Mr. Anthony Carter was this year’s winner of the Tabasco Hottest Chef Competition. Anthony is attending DIT Cathal Brugha St. He is a student of the B.A. in Culinary Arts and Tourism course.
Stafford Lynch Ltd. are thrilled to announce that Mark Moriarty was crowned winner of the S. Pellegrino Young Chef competition on Friday 26th June 2015. The Grand Final was held in Milan where Mark encountered stiff competition from talented young chefs from around the globe. Mark was representing the UK and Ireland region and was mentored by Ms. Clare Smyth. His winning dish was a menu of Celeriac Baked in Barley and Fermented Hay, Cured and Smoked Celeriac and Toasted Hay Tea. Mark revealed the inspiration for his signature dish was a desire to ” capture the essence of Ireland and present humble, locally sourced ingredients like celeriac and barley in a unique way”. Congratulations Mark!

The theme of the 2015 Tabasco Hottest Chef Competition was ” Street Food”. The venue was DIT, Cathal Brugha St. in Dublin. We had some very innovative and inspiring entries which made the task of choosing a winner quite difficult. We are delighted to announce that Ms. Roisin Gillen, a student on the B.A. in Culinary Arts and Tourism course, claimed the title with a delicious dish which is pictured below. Mr Gary Evans, Tabasco European Development Chef very kindly gave his valued time into the judging process, along with Ms. Una Lynch, Director, Stafford Lynch Ltd.

Mark Moriarty of the Culinary Counter in Dublin, has won the UK and Ireland region semi-final of the San Pellegrino Young Chef 2015 competition. The 24 year old chef was chosen to travel to the Grand Final in Milan in June 2015, where he will compete with 19 other young chefs from around the globe to be crowned the world’s best young chef.

The participants are students on the B.A. in Culinary Arts and Tourism course. Mr Gary Evans, Tabasco European Development Chef, was the judge on the day and we are delighted to announce that Mr. John Poole was the winner!

We held a dinner in Thorntons Restaurant , Dublin on Monday 28th April 2014 to watch the announcement of the San Pellegrino and Aqua Panna Best 50 Restaurants in the World being streamed live from the Guildhall in London. We had a great reaction from our guests and San Pellegrino 50 Best was the top trending topic in Ireland on Twitter on Monday night.
